4H LAMB AUCTION gives AMAZING SUPPORT to the LIGHT UP YOUR LIFE SOCIETY TRI-COMMUNITY PALLIATIVE/HOSPICE CARE SOCIETY
On May 20, 2026 the Stony Plain & District 4H, alongside Woodland Farms and Taylor Williams (who raised and cared for “Arlo”) donated the lamb to be auctioned at the Annual 4H Show & Sale.
Light Up Your Life Society Directors, Sharon Cornelius and Linda McCreath attended the event which drew a very large and enthusiastic crowd at the Stony Plain Heritage Pavilion. It was a new and thoroughly enjoyable experience for both of them!
The Society is grateful beyond measure for being chosen to receive a final auction donation of $7,500.00 from the sale.
Upon presentation of the cheque by the Vanderwell family and Taylor Williams, we were honoured to receive an additional $2,500.00 in loving memory of Barry Vanderwell who passed away in our Westview Hospice. The family expressed gratitude for the loving care and support Barry received and they spoke highly of the staff and volunteers who helped them all feel at “home” during such a difficult time in their lives.
As a volunteer-run Society for the past 34 years, we assure our donors that the full amount of $10,000.00 will be used to help fulfil the needs of palliative/hospice and continuing care in our local area.
We are giving away two Golf Experience prize packages, with each winner invited to bring a guest for a fun evening of golf, refreshments, and community connection.
Prize Includes:
1-hour group session with professional golf instructor Katrina Kelly
Bring a friend (2 winners = 4 participants)
Large bucket of range balls for each participant
One complimentary drink per person
Hosted at South Century Driving Range
Tickets: $10 each or 3 for $25

Light Up Your Life Society is overwhelmed with the support for this annual raffle with all the proceeds going directly to provide comfort, care and support to hospice and palliative care in the Tri-Municipal Region.
Raffle draw was held on Dec 19 with all the winners contacted.
The 34th annual campaign to raise funds for palliative/hospice and continuing care in the Tri-Municipal Region officially begins in a few days, but LUYL’s hardworking volunteers do their part every day of the year. Check out changes to our Fundraising Campaign and Events page as we transition from 2024’s successful campaign to 2025. Once again, our fundraising goal is $100,000 and we know we’ll achieve that with your generous donations and participation in our events. Raffle tickets can already be purchased, and donation boxes are available throughout the region. Thank you so much for your ongoing support!
